While a sophomore at Brandeis University, Joel started his first business in Gloucester, which he ran successfully for four years before moving on to focus on his legal career.

During his time at Boston University School of Law, Joel was the first student to be granted an externship in the legal department for PAREXEL International. Joel also worked for two years at a general practice firm located in Salem, Massachusetts.

Joel founded Seaside Legal Solutions in 2010 as a response to the need for a 21st century law practice on Cape Ann and is currently accepting new clients as Seaside Legal continues to expand.
